Under 9 Battle of the Cwm's

Both teams lined up on an impressive day weather wise and ended in a great showing of Under 9s rugby, considering we are so early in the season and remembering that this is all of the players first year tackling the commitment and effort shown by both teams was amazing leading by example for Cwmgwrach was their captain Tomas Davies who returning from a summer long ankle injury showed no fear in holding up the defence, with players like Joshua Castaldi, Caleb Cole, Kieran Casey and Oliver Davies all working hard throughpout the first half against a tough home side, there were great tries scored by both sides but with great skill and running techniques both Cian John and Cosmo Collins running in two tries a piece keeping Cwmgwrach even stevens at the break.
The second half was just as entertaining with more tremendous tackling on show from Brandon Jones and Anton Curry who chased every player down until they were stopped, Cwmgwrach edging into the lead with some excellent turn overs giving them posession on a number of occasions capitalising on this was young Matthew Whiles who showed great determination to get over the line for his try, the game continued to entertain keeping coaches and parents glued to the game but the difference between the two sides came down to a overall great performance from Callum Griffiths who not only ran in 4 tries again his work rate in the tackle was brilliant resulting in a special win for Cwmgwrach 7-9.
