On a bright Sunday morning the under 11s payed a visit to Cwrt Herbert to play Neath Ath U11s, having several new players in the side Cwmgwrach showed great potential in attack and defense against a strong running and organized Athletic side. Although the Cwmgwrach players tackled well in defense notably through Nathan Orrells, Dylan Oakley & Kian Godsall the Neath Side took advantage of the slope in the first half running in four tries to nil, Another of the Cwmgwarch players who continues to improve game by game is Joeseph Dargavell who again had a solid game with some strong runs and hard tackling. After the interval Cwmgwrach started to use the slope with Nathan Orrrells making a break down the wing with Joeseph Dargavell in support, the athletic defense stayed strong though taking the attack into touch in the corner, from the resulting line out Kian Godsall put pressure on the Athletic 10 who rushed his clearance kick, the bounce of the ball favored young Orrells who timed his run to perfection collecting the ball and crashing over for the first of Cwmgwrach tries. Although Cwmgwrach were defending strongly through the likes of brothers Dan & Tom Groth, the well organized Neath side ran in a further 2 tries. The young Cwmgwrach team would not give up easily though with a period of pressure deep in the Athletic half forcing the home side into touch inside their 22. From the line out a well worked move between hooker Mckenzie Lewis & scrum half Callum Gnojek saw the Cwmgwrach front rower power over for the second of the visitors tries. Eventually the home side ran out winners with a score of 7 tries to 2, All in all though a great performance from every Cwmgwrach player, with the team numbers looking good this was a game the blue & amber's will look to take a lot of positives from and take into next Sundays game at home to Bryncoch.
